Booty bands are getting super popular these days, but there are booty bands (i.e. plain old mini resistance bands as we know them), and then there are Booty Bands™ (the awesome invention that you’re about to read about in this review!).
From here on in, whenever I mention Booty Bands, I’m referring to this product invented by personal trainer Danita Young.
I first discovered these about a month ago and knew that I just had to try them, so bought a set right away as a little Christmas/New Year present for myself.
This review is based on my experience with the product, which I’ve been thrilled with!

Booty Bands by Danita Young: An Overview
2021 Update: So my booty bands are still going strong several years later with the exception of one that broke (but was replaced free of charge by customer service with no questions asked). The construction seems to have changed a few times along the way – so the images in this review aren’t quite representative of what you’ll get anymore. I’ll be checking out the latest Booty Band products soon, so I can update my review to be more accurate, and when I do I’ll link to it from here. Stay tuned!
Booty Bands™ are a super strong, durable and pretty elastic resistance band designed for building a beautiful booty! These are bands with a difference – unlike your typical rubber mini-band, they are designed to be comfortable – meaning they won’t roll up, move, or break when you are trying to use them! They are a patented-design and have been created with love by personal trainer Danita Young.
There are three levels of Booty Bands, each with a different color – Purple (Level 1), Aqua (Level 2), and Pink (Level 3). *Update* – There has actually been a Level 4 silver colored band released since my initial review.
If you order any Booty Band, you also get lifetime access to Danita’s 10 day ‘Bubble Your Booty’ member’s workout videos as well as her bonus ‘Small Waist Diet Plan’.
The Good & The Bad
The Good
- Super strong resistance to produce results!
- Really comfortable – stay in place when you move
- No need to worry about breakage or skin pinching
- Pretty colors and sparkly design
The Bad
- Small loop, so range of motion is limited
- Pricey – only one resistance band supplied unless you get the pack
- The resistance is very strong which limits the number of exercises you can do
Who Will Enjoy Booty Bands?
If you’re shopping around for a super effective resistance band that’s really going to help you get a fantastic butt with nice definition, Booty Bands are perfect.
Beginners all the way up to booty-building gurus can benefit from a band like this.
If you’re someone who already goes to the gym and is working out on a regular basis, you can easily incorporate Booty Bands into those fundamental booty-building exercises like squats, hip thrust and even kickbacks for an extra challenge that can heighten the effectiveness of those exercises to amazing levels.
And even if you don’t already have a regular exercise routine or are just getting started, I would highly recommend Booty Bands! Danita, the creator, has a ton of fun and inspiring Booty Band workouts which are free to watch on YouTube, so you’ll never be stuck for ideas on how to use them.
The good news is you can use these bands virtually anywhere too, and they’re so simple that it takes away all excuses. They are also some of the strongest resistance bands I’ve come across so far, which means that you’ll really feel the burn after using these (always a reassuring sign that your muscles are working hard – which means you’ll see really great results too!).
I really like their cute colors and subtle sparkly design, too – who knew you could look this good while working out?
Who Isn’t it For?
If you are looking for a light (i.e. easy to stretch) band, these aren’t for you. Booty Bands, even the Level 1 band, are very strong in my opinion and don’t stretch far, which means you need to use a decent amount of muscle power to stretch it when using it. The range of motion you can use them for is also reduced because of this.
It’s also not a very large loop band, so may not suit you if you have larger thighs. I have a pretty petite build, and for me it can already feel somewhat tight even when it’s not stretched by the time you bring it around both legs.
What You Get
Okay, so if you’re thinking Booty Bands may be for you, then let’s take a look at what you get if you want to get yourself one.
<Click here to check out the Booty Bands shop!>
Booty Bands come in several different difficulty levels, but all of the options come with the following:
(click the drop-down arrow to show or hide more information on each item)
Booty Band
There are three different levels of Booty Bands – Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 – with Level 3 being the toughest (and speaking from experience, it really is tough!). This means you can progress to the higher level bands as you get stronger to keep your results coming.
The Level 1 bands are available in a few different colors – purple, gold, or black. From there you can also add on the extra Level 2 and Level 3 bands if you want to.
Lifetime access to the Member's Workout Videos
The member’s area is a portal where you are able to view the 10 day Bubble Your Booty workout program, which includes videos to guide you through a huge range of exercises. These challenging but quick workouts will have you seeing results in just 10 days using your Booty Band!
Lifetime access to this fabulous resource means you’ll never find yourself wondering how to use the Booty Band, as Danita walks you through some really fun (and challenging) butt workouts.
The videos are fully downloadable or you can stream them. Each of the days takes about 15 minutes to complete the workout, so it’s super achievable even for those who don’t have a lot of time.
Small Waist Diet Plan
The extra bonus that is offered with Booty Bands is a Small Waist Diet Plan – a downloadable pdf guide to achieving a smaller waist by making the right food choices.
I like this guide because it keeps it really simple, without too much Calorie counting and confusing information. Plus, it won’t take you ages to read, as it’s just 10 pages.
Meeting Your Macros
Basically, Danita walks you through how to work out your macro requirements (protein, carbohydrates, and fats), and then gives some solid examples on what types of foods you can eat to achieve your daily targets. It’s not a restrictive diet or anything, it’s just about getting the fundamentals right, which I love because it makes it easy to stick with.
There’s also a video in the member’s area where Danita walks you through exactly how to create your own diet plan using the principles she teaches in the Small Waist Diet Plan, so anyone can do it!
30 Day money back guarantee
Because it’s always a little risky buying something you haven’t actually seen in person before, the fact that there’s a satisfaction guaranteed, no questions asked 30 day money back guarantee on this product is awesome – it takes away all the risk to the end user!
You Get More Than Just A Band Though…
The main thing I love about Booty Bands is that I feel like you really get so much more than just a band when you get one of these.
The huge difference between these and all of the other resistance and hip bands out there is the support, mindset and inspiration that you get from all the Booty Bands workout videos and emails – all of this thanks to their inventor’s passion for empowering women to change their life through these awesome bands! I just love this brand’s philosophy:
Change your mind, change your body, change your life.
About the Creator
Danita Young is the creator behind Booty Bands, and you can really see that she cares about helping women get the body they are after!
She’s also a personal trainer, and nationally qualified bikini competitor, so knowing what works and doesn’t for a better-looking butt is well within her field of expertise. She created Booty Bands as a solution to conventional resistance bands in 2017.
Heaps of Inspiring Videos Available on YouTube
The Booty Bands YouTube channel has so many videos available, it’s easy to get some inspiration for a good butt workout anytime. I highly recommend it – and you don’t even need a Booty Band to benefit from some of the content on there!
The Bands: Booty Bands In Detail
So let’s look at the bands themselves and how they stack up. Are they really worth it?
Construction
The main selling feature of Booty Bands is their unique construction – which is the reason behind why they provide a much firmer resistance than a conventional rubber-type mini band.
The problem with traditional mini bands/loop resistance bands
If you’ve ever used a normal rubber type resistance band, you’ll recognize some of the annoying things that they tend to do:
- Rolling up (especially when doing exercises like clamshells)
- Pinching your skin
- Snapping when the rubber starts to degrade
- Require constant adjustment which can distract you from your workout
Booty Bands claim to make all of these issues problems of the past, with their ‘patented design’ which is simple, yet effective.
A Closer Look At Booty Bands
When I first saw Booty Bands, I wondered how they could be that different. Let me tell you now, the secret lies in their totally different construction.
You can’t really see what’s inside the Booty Bands unless you cut them open, but they seem to be made of an inner stretchy flat band loop which is covered by a separate outer material (which is what you see when you look at the product), that is stitched in place.
The outer layer that you see is a stretch fabric that’s got a mosaic style sequin pattern on it – this gives the band a shiny/glittery look to it. Pretty!
I don’t quite know how to describe it, but there are what look like little circles of shiny print stuck on to the fabric. They really seem to stay put though, because even when the band is stretched or picked at, they don’t come off. They give the band a smooth feel when it’s not stretched, and a slightly rough texture when stretched.
The loop is double stitched closed and all the seams are neat and tidy.
Inside the band is the elastic layer, which you can’t see. I don’t know what this is made of but I’d guess at some kind of rubber, maybe a fairly thick piece, since the bands give a very decent level of resistance.
I was really surprised at how firm/strong these bands are. By this, I mean that they don’t have a huge amount of stretch like some of the traditional rubber-type resistance bands I’ve used before.
For example, with my Level 1 band, it only stretches to a maximum of around 1.5 – 2 times its original size, after which the resistance it gives is too much for my muscles to be able to stretch it much further.
At no point though, do you feel like you’re going to snap or break the band, which is a good thing. These things honestly feel indestructible.
Below I’ve summarized the size of each band. The maximum stretch that I’ve been able to get out of mine are around 1.5 – 2 times the band’s length, so if you multiply that you can get an idea of the maximum range of motion on these.

Comfort and Rolling Up
Booty Bands claim to not roll up, pinch or bruise you, and in my opinion, they definitely do outperform other bands in this area. What a relief! No longer am I constantly stopping mid-exercise to keep adjusting the band.
I put mine to the test with clamshells and they stay in place perfectly, thanks to the width of them which helps to keep them staying put.
However, they’re not completely immune to rolling up especially if you are doing fast exercises or happen to have smooth/slippery workout pants on. For example, in the video below, you can see the aqua booty band on Danita stays put, but the pink one seems to slide up a little (she probably has more satin-y leggings on) – although if you watch to the end she says it is still super effective!
I also found my Booty Bands to get a little uncomfortable with how firm they are if you are doing a lot of reps, especially if I’m trying to do an exercise that requires a longer range of motion. However, this is pretty rare – the bands provide such a high level of resistance that I don’t have to do heaps and heaps of reps to start feeling them work (always a bonus!).
Exercises for Booty Bands
Your best resource here when it comes to Booty Band exercises is the Booty Bands YouTube channel, where there is no shortage of inspiration for exercises to do with these bands!
For example, I learned the scorpion pump move (which is really similar to froggy glute lifts) from Booty Bands, and it’s a new favorite!
I originally got my booty band hoping to do all kinds of exercises with it, including ones where I planned to use the band around my ankles/feet. Unfortunately though, I found that I couldn’t use Booty Bands for these as the resistance is too strong and the range of motion a little bit short. I now realize that this was my mistake, as they’re designed for a different use.
These bands are unmatched when it comes to what they were designed for – to get maximum glute activation when doing exercises like squats, hip thrust, curtsy lunges, kickbacks, lateral leg lifts, clamshells, fire hydrants and more. The strong level of resistance means that you fatigue faster on these – so you can achieve a deeper burn with less reps (i.e. get results quicker).
Effectiveness – Do Booty Bands Work?
These bands absolutely do work – I have the sore glutes to back this statement up!
Also, not only will they target your glutes, but they can also give your hamstrings and inner thigh muscles a good blasting too. More definition in the hamstring area is great for getting your booty to pop and show that rounded shape.
Overall Impressions
I’ve been really happy with the challenge that my Booty Bands offer. Admittedly they aren’t as versatile as I had hoped due to their shorter range of motion, but for the exercises that they are designed for, they are absolutely killer. I don’t think my butt has ever hurt so bad from clamshells using a band, ever!
Yes, they are a little more expensive than typical resistance band loops, but they are so durable that you could probably keep them for life. I’d recommend these for super achievers who want to take their booty gains to the next level with a tough band!

Booty Bands™ Review
Summary
Booty Bands™ are booty bands like you’ve never seen them before! Forget those annoying rubber mini-bands which always roll up or snap – these sparkly bands are roll-resistant and virtually indestructible!
And glute burn? If you’ve ever had trouble getting it in the past – these pretty much guarantee it within a very short period of time. Goodness!
Are these comfortable to use on bare skin? I’ve been using rubber resistance bands and they work alright on my yoga pants but if I’m in my shorts they grab my skin.
Hi Jess!
Happy to report that yes, these bands are super comfortable on bare skin! I know the rubber ones can tend to pinch a little, but I have found my Booty Bands to be totally fine.
It’s hard to explain, but the sparkly/sequin-y type bits on the fabric cover seem to provide just the right amount of friction against your legs when the material is stretched, I think this might be the reason behind how they stay in place. (Some kind of sorcery!)
Basically, they don’t slide too easily on bare skin so they stay put, but they do it without that pinching feeling you can sometimes get with the rubber ones. If I had to be hypercritical, I’d say at the most you might feel a very light scratchiness against the sequin print fragments when the fabric stretches (if you’re looking out for it), but it’s so slight that I had never noticed it before when working out in shorts. It’s only now that I’ve picked this out since I got your message and tried to test this item specifically! So I don’t think it would be a problem.
I purchased booty bands on 3.4.19 recieved really fast, however I was also suppose to receive the workout and diet plan. Today 3.6.19 I recieved and email with the downloads, however when you click on the download link it takes you right back to the store…smh. i looked your company up on the BBB and there are 4 complaints on your store there is even a phone number, you can only leave a message however VM is full.
That sucks Erica, I hate it when those kind of technical issues happen and then you can’t even contact anyone to get it resolved.
Just to clarify, I am not a part of the Booty Bands company at all, I only purchased their product once and wrote about my experiences with their product.
It’s really sad to see that there are quite a few people having trouble with the company and getting in touch with people who can help. I hope you can get the workout and diet plan soon.
I wouldn’t mind trying these booty bands as the ones I have (full set) have a tendency to roll up during certain exercises. I assume you can do donkey kicks with this band?
Hi Charla!
Yes you can definitely do donkey kicks with these bands and they do resist roll up on this move a lot more than other bands would (I wouldn’t even be able to do one rep with my old tubing band – it would roll up on the first movement!). However, I must confess that resistance bands were not my favorite item to use with donkey kicks in the past (I used to prefer ankle weights). This might just have been a personal preference because I find that with a resistance band on this move, it occasionally tends to press against my hamstrings which happens to make me focus on that muscle more (when I really want to be directing my attention to feeling my glutes fire during the move instead).
That being said, I have found that shifting the band a little higher up my thighs to avoid this unwanted effect works for me! You can definitely use these Booty Bands for donkey kicks and still get a really good burn in the glutes. I may even try doubling up with the Booty Bands plus ankle weights in the future!
Quick question: where do we find the workouts at ? I don’t wanna watch a DVD. Is there an app or something we can log into to find the exercises.
Hi Lisa,
The workouts are super easy to access – you get a link sent to you for a ‘Member’s Area’ website which has all the videos there. That being said, I also got a follow up email from Danita a few days afterwards which also gave me the option of using their YouTube member’s only videos (which are the same videos as you’ll find on their Member’s Area website). I like doing it this way a lot more because I don’t need to sign in to the member’s area first.
Definitely would recommend using the YouTube link to view the videos – it’s so easy, I find it tends to make me more inclined to load up the workouts on my smartphone via YouTube whenever I have some free time to squeeze in some glute exercises!
Hey hey, the workouts are in 2 places, 1 – on members only youtube channel and 2 – Booty Bands online streaming member portal. Once you purchase and you are a member you are sent all of this… Hope this helps!
With Love
-Danita
Thanks for confirming that Danita!
I purchased this and received the band but did not receive any information/link about the other things I was supposed to get such as the member portal or diet plan. It does not show me as registered so I do not have access but I cant get any support to tell me how to get registered. I reached out about it to their Facebook, support email, their chat link with Tawk, and contact us on their webpage. I’m hoping someone lets me know something soon as I got this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I feel that the membership is where the value is as you can get the bands relatively inexpensive elsewhere.
Hope you get that sorted out soon Stephanni, it can be really frustrating when your experience with a company/product doesn’t go as planned. I agree these types of band are becoming more and more common and the value is in whether or not you use them (which the membership and workouts should help motivate people with!).
Good luck getting this before Christmas and have a good one!
Hi there this isn’t a fitness question but rather a question regarding the company itself. After you order the bands, are you enrolled in any “monthly fee” type of program? Just want to know exactly what I may be getting into. I was recently duped by a company and can’t make that mistake again! I didn’t see anything stating that but I just want to be 100% sure! Thanks a bunch
D
Hi D,
No, there’s no monthly fee or anything like that which I know of. You’re not buying any program, it’s just the physical bands and you just happen to get access to the workout programs along with it. I believe it’s a lifetime access though. The only thing I did notice when I bought my bands is that they do try and upsell you a few items like the level 2 and 3 band set as well as some workout clothing when you go through the checkout process!
Aside from that, I do get emails from the company but they are just workout tips and motivation emails – all free 🙂
Hope this helps!
Hello,
My name is Chantelle Kelley. I ordered Booty Bands 3 weeks ago. They are still not delivered, I wrote customer service and they sent me a tracking number that the label was still not created on. As a seller for my own website, I know that yall forgot about my order because of this. I want a 50 % refund. It will be a complete month before I get them and I have a cruise in two months. I bought this to help me and I still don’t have them. I told customer service I wanted a partial refund and I got COMPLETELY ignored. I am not hard to work with at all. But this is completely poor customer service.
Hey Chantelle, really sorry to hear about this poor experience; I hope it gets resolved for you soon. I had a similar experience on Amazon recently and the seller ended up refunding me for my item, which was nice but still annoying as I waited over a month to receive it and sometimes money just doesn’t really make up for lost time.
I think they do advertise as having a 30-day satisfaction money back guarantee, so you may be able to fall back on this to try and get a refund (especially if you haven’t received them after 30 days!!). Based on your and Rebecca’s comments it sounds like the company may be having some internal issues with shipping – hopefully whatever is happening gets fixed soon so no one else has a bad experience like this.
I’m a little shocked at the slow delivery and no tracking ability. I ordered mine about 11 days ago and I haven’t heard anything about estimated delivery date. I can’t contact anyone either, I emailed and received an auto response.
I just checked if my order from last year came with tracked shipping and it did, so it seems strange that they would stop providing tracking now.
How do you contact the company? I’ve sent multiple emails, nothing. I ordered the bands almost 2 weeks ago, still haven’t received any information on delivery. I would say if you want to use these to get in shape for summer you had better order early in the winter. I have a feeling I’ll have to contact the BBB to actually receive any information. This isn’t a good look for a company.
Hi Rebecca,
That’s pretty annoying, I know how frustrating it can be when orders get messed up as I just had that happen to me recently for something I ordered on Amazon! So I totally feel your pain. Unfortunately since I’m not part of that company’s operations or anything like that, I can’t really offer any advice other than to email through to their support team which you’ve obviously already done..
The only other idea I have that may help you is that I noticed that I occasionally get emails from the Booty Bands subscriber list saying that Danita is doing a Live session on either Instagram or Facebook – so perhaps either of those channels may be another way to try and get in contact with someone (as it seems she may use those somewhat regularly)?
Hope you can get a resolution soon.
Thanks for the informative article! 🙂 Does the “10 Day Bubble Your Booty” workout program require gym equipment or are you able to do it at home with minimal/no equipment? I can’t find anywhere which it was designed for! Thanks! 🙂
Hi Nicole, I’m glad you found it useful!
You don’t need any special equipment for it, the whole program can easily be done at home!
I wanted to try this product so bad but reading the reviews about people not getting their product I am disappointed so I am afraid to purchase after all. I might try some other time.
Hi Grace,
I got a little worried about this too after I saw people’s comments, but after a recent experience with Booty Bands I was impressed with the way they handled it. My level 1 band somehow broke inside the casing so I contacted the customer support line to see what could be done. They were reasonably prompt in correspondence and they have sent out a replacement one completely free of charge. I’m yet to receive it in the mail but expect it in the next day or so based on the USPS tracking.
I thought that they may have been going through a busy period before and that could be why people were experiencing delays, however I totally understand feeling a little wary about it given other people’s previous comment. Maybe if you do choose to go ahead, make sure it’s not time critical (allow plenty of time to receive the product) and you should always be able to fall back on their 30-day money back guarantee if things go wrong. Hope this helps!
Never got my item, was charged though. They would NEVER answer any of my emails but when I would catch someone on their “chat” they would tell me that the booty bands didn’t meet their “quality control” so that’s why they haven’t shipped it out yet. Then I’d wait another week or so and I’d try the chat and they would just stop responding. Also, never received the other stuff it was supposed to come with as well! Scam
Hi Tina, that sucks, I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Were you able to get a refund of the charges at all, if nothing ever got shipped to you?
Will my butt size increase in volume with these bands or they will just tone are reduce it?
I feel like my butt didn’t really increase in volume due to the bands, but did help perk things up a bit. I rarely am doing just one butt thing at a time though, so it’s difficult to say. In my opinion you need to have a combination of efforts/exercise types and intensities to build good gluteal muscle mass (=volume).
My recommendation for building booty volume would be heavy weights and exercises like glute bridges, hip thrust, squats, deadlifts. I find that the band work plays a more supportive role in that it helps you activate the muscles so that you can get more effectiveness out of the exercises like glute bridges etc that can use heavy weights and therefore build muscles faster.
Dermalmd buttocks enhancement serum is of good quality. I am using it after my pregnancy. My butts got saggy cause I didn’t move a lot. Btw I had a very heavy, not easy at all pregnancy. So now I want to get in shape. The serum seems like it works. I need to get back to the gym, so it works faster✅✅
