If you’ve noticed that your rear end is looking a little lumpy of late, let me reassure you that you’re not alone. It’s estimated that around 90% of women and up to 10% of men suffer from this dimply affliction, which I know from experience can be particularly embarrassing when it takes over on what used to be your once-smooth bum.
In this article I’d like to tell you what I have found to be the best way to get rid of cellulite. Not only is it the best way, it’s the only way that I know of that can possibly work if you want to lose the cellulite from your bum.
No More Cellulite Gimmicks, Please
No, I’m not going to keep you on the edge of your seat for 5 minutes only to let you know some magical secret of getting rid cellulite at the end of this article (and it could be all yours for the low, low cost of only $19.99!).
Instead, I’m going to come right out and say it, plain and simple…
The best way to get rid of butt cellulite is a combination of hard work and consistency.
This means developing a cellulite treatment schedule and sticking to it, day after day after day. If that sounds boring or painful, well, let’s face it – it kind of is.
But having a wobbly butt with the texture of cottage cheese that you have to constantly hide under clothing for fear of what other people will think is pretty painful too. I’d say even more so than going through a 5-10 minute daily routine.
If you’re smart, you will use this type of pain to drive you to action.
Developing Your Own Cellulite Treatment Program
If you want to get rid of your cellulite forever, you’ll need to come up with a quick program that you can incorporate into your daily routine. Contrary to what the cellulite treatment industry might have you believe, this doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive.
The four key areas you should focus on when thinking about treating cellulite are:
Hydration…
Exercise… and, most important of all,
Circulation!
Things You Can Start Doing on a Daily Basis to Fight Cellulite
- Increase your hydration by drinking more water
- Clean up your diet by avoiding processed foods
- Start massaging your cellulite prone areas
- Incorporate effective exercises for counteracting cellulite into your day
- Start skin brushing or foam rolling
My Daily Cellulite-Busting Routine
I’ve incorporated all of the above into my daily routine as I really want to get rid of cellulite on my bum. I don’t really diet, but I do avoid processed foods as I know they only make me feel crap after I eat them. My routine for treating butt-cellulite looks like this:
Morning:
- Big glass of water upon waking up
- 5 minutes of skin brushing (a fantastic way to start the day!)
Midday:
- Some bodyweight squats in the ladies toilets at work (optional :P)
Before bed:
- Big glass of water
- 5 minutes on the foam roller
- Quick thigh and butt massage using a moisturizer of my choice
That’s it! Simple and quick enough to be performed daily (remember what I said about consistency?), which is absolutely key. If I ever feel like I’m too busy or rushed, the above steps are fast enough that I can justify just doing them quickly before bed.
Do your routine daily, and make it a habit. The only other thing you need to do then is repeat to fade. Of cellulite, that is.
If you’ve really got stubborn cellulite, then you may want to step it up a notch by looking into a dedicated exercise system that can treat the root cause of cellulite.
Do you have your own cellulite-busting daily routine? Drop me a comment, I’d love to hear what works for you.
Ha! The ‘captcha code’ was ‘bUM5’ lol. Great info Jolie. If I was a woman with cellulite – I’d be stoked!
It’s a sign Steve! Thanks for dropping by 🙂
Wow, I didn’t know it was that easy to get rid of cellulite. I understand you have to stick with a routine, however I thought once you have it, that was it. You gave me hope. 🙂 Thanks!
Hey Jolie,
Hard work and consistency are two things that are hard to put together haha.
I found the “massage” part interesting.
Does massaging a part of the body help it to lose fat?
Tak
Hi Tak, that’s a good question – no doubt I’ll do an in-depth post on this later.
In the case of cellulite, massage has been shown to improve the appearance of the dimples. One such study where positive results were obtained after the use of an electronic-powered rolling massage device is here.
In general though, I’m not aware that massage has been shown to allow you to ‘spot reduce’ or lose fat. It works for cellulite because part of the appearance of cellulite is due to poor lymph drainage and improving the circulation in the fatty tissue in that area can counteract this.
It’s great to know that hydration & exercise keep cellulite away because I am quite diligent *ahem* practicing those two on a daily basis 🙂
Remember it’s all about keeping up the little changes Cathy! Thanks for sharing 🙂
