I recently learned of an online product which is specifically focused on how to train your way to a bigger butt. As you can imagine, I was immediately intrigued and just had to check this one out. So what is Gluteus to the Maximus all about exactly, and will it work for you? To answer this question I’ve reviewed the product in depth, so you can find out if it’s really something that will fit with your schedule.
Gluteus to the Maximus: Product Overview
Do you suffer from the dreaded ‘pancake butt’? Ever been called ‘no-butt’, ‘flat-ass’, or wished you actually had some shape to your rear? If this sounds like you, then the Gluteus to the Maximus product may be the answer you are looking for.
Name: Gluteus to the Maximus
Author: Nick Nilsson
Available at: Online at FitStep.com
Price: $39.95
Gluteus to the Maximus is an ebook product which is specifically designed to help you achieve a bigger, rounder and more toned butt, without any of the hype of gimmicky products like creams and pills that claim to make your butt bigger.
The basis behind this program is proven. If you’re willing to work to get a bigger butt, you can have it – but you absolutely will only get out what you put in.
So How Does it Work?
The Gluteus to the Maximum program is all about building a bigger butt through increasing the size of your muscles, but in this instance, your glute muscles in particular. Everything discussed in this book takes techniques from conventional bodybuilding, and tailors them to specifically apply to your butt, so you grow the glutes while slimming down and losing fat everywhere else on your body.
To do this, you’ll be doing resistance training with specific glute-targeting exercises, 3 times a week from home or the gym. The book offers 10 or 20 minute workouts, but you can really customize your program to whatever suits best for you.

About the Author
This book has been written by bodybuilder and personal trainer Nick Nilsson, a.k.a. the “Mad Scientist” of muscle – with this name coming about due to his unique and creative approach to exercise and bodybuilding.
Nick has applied his degree in physical education to come up with the most effective exercises to specifically target the glutes and get you the results you are after, even on the most stubborn and non-existent of butts.
If you check out this guy’s profile, you’ll find that he’s definitely got his money where his mouth is. Apart from sporting an impressive well-muscled physique, Nick also writes for various bodybuilding and fitness magazines, has authored many articles and posts for well-respected and popular fitness and bodybuilding websites, and has authored 10 books to date on bodybuilding.
The Good and the Bad
The Good
- A fitness program specifically designed to do one thing: add bulk to your butt
- Massive amounts of useful information that all applies to growing your glute muscles
- Produces results, with a proven system that will work for everyone
- Based on science, no gimmicky hype, manageable workout lengths or 10 – 20 minutes, 3 times a week
- You get a massive arsenal of butt exercises and stretches that target the glutes
- Top-notch product support
- Clickable links within the ebook makes it easy to jump to different sections
The Bad
- You get out what you put in. If you put in nothing, expect no results
- You need to tailor and customize your own program to an extent. This is not a personalized plan, and the focus is on ‘teaching you how to fish’ rather than ‘giving you a fish’, so to speak
- There is a lot of material to go through, and it can be easy to be overwhelmed
- Product presentation is a bit outdated and not the most professional
- Product has been split into separate files for the exercise index and workout programs, so some clickable links are broken and don’t work
Who Is Gluteus to the Maximus For?
Anyone who has ever suffered from the embarrassment and low confidence that having a shapeless or flat butt can bring. Or anyone who wants to boost up their butt a bit but is not sure how to begin.
Male or female, the methods presented in this book will work for you – contrary to popular belief, the same techniques and exercises will work equally well for both guys and girls when it comes to building a bigger butt.
Gluteus to the Maximus is a fitness and workout program, so it will suit those who are willing and able to put in the effort to a training program that will get them the results they are looking for – a bigger, rounder and firmer butt. The principles in this book will absolutely work for everyone, because we all have muscle and muscle can be made bigger.
If you’ve been training for a while but are not seeing the results that you are after, then that means you are probably doing something wrong. This book will help you reset and understand why you might have plateaued, and how to get back on track to gaining inches on your butt, while still keeping the rest of your body trim.
Tools and Training
The training material presented is very diverse, and will have you covered for a long time.
Topics Covered
There are four main topics covered in Gluteus to the Maximus, followed by a section dedicated to other topics and FAQs.
- Exercises – Instructions for 56 glute-building exercises are provided.
- Stretching – Nick explains the importance of stretching and provides 12 stretches to incorporate into your program.
- Nutrition – This section covers general nutrition guidelines for body-building, leaving it up to you to apply the knowledge rather than prescribing a specific program.
- Program – A variety of workout programs are provided with many options. Again though, the focus is on taking what is given with the goal of customizing a plan to suit yourself.
- Other Topics – Pages of great information which answers questions like: how to train the glutes if you have bad knees, why butts stay small, why conventional low-intensity cardio could be keeping your butt small, how to keep your butt and still lose fat, and much more.
Exercises are categorized into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced levels with a few Core exercises thrown in as well. The instructions are straightforward, complete with pictures and a link to the online video library where you can see the movement demonstrated. Common mistakes are also detailed for each exercise.
Workouts are also categorized by the following aspects:
- Location: Home or gym
- Trainee level: Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced
- Workout time: 10 minutes or 20 minutes
Ideally you’ll want to have access to a gym, as a great deal of the exercises showcased include some kind of resistance in the form of dumbbells, barbell or weight machine. Of course, doing these as just bodyweight exercises is recommended for beginners, but you’ll need to find a way to add resistance as you get stronger.
What is Gluteus to the Maximus like as a program for those who want to train at home?
The good news is that if you don’t have a gym membership, you can train at home, though you will need to adjust and tailor the program to suit. Nick does mention that it can definitely be done but it is more difficult, as it becomes a bit trickier to find ways to add the extra resistance that you need to build up the glutes.
If you want to train at home, you’ll need to look to either invest in some dumbbells, or improvise some DIY weights (milk jugs filled with sand or water, backpacks full of books or other heavy items, as suggested in the ebook).
Gluteus to the Maximus Support
You get unlimited product support and free lifetime updates with this product. I’ve contacted Nick before about this product and he has always gotten back to me within a matter of days (usually within the same day of my query), with a detailed response and genuinely helpful attitude.
If you choose to purchase Gluteus to the Maximus, you will get access to the online exercise video library, which contains video demonstrations for each of the 56 exercises presented in the program.
You can also download these files to your computer if you so choose, though the Exercise Index ebook has more than enough pictures and detailed instruction for you to be able to get an understanding of how to do each exercise.
Be aware that the exercise photos and video are by no means professionally presented with a nice studio setting and perfect lighting. The exercise index pictures look to be screenshots of the exercise video demonstrations, which by the look of it are shot from Nick’s basement home gym. This does not make them any less effective or correct, but it is something to be aware of.
Price
Gluteus to the Maximus retails for $39.95 and comes with a 60 day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the product. Given Nick’s responsiveness in the past, I have no doubt that you would have no issues with obtaining a refund if you found that the program did not work for you.
Upsells
Within the ebook there are a few upsells, including Nick’s recommended supplements such as multivitamins, protein powders, exercise supplements and the like, but these are noted as being all optional when it comes to seeing results.
There is also a link to a few of Nick’s other products like his best Ab Exercises ebook, as tightening up your waist and abdominal area can make the glutes stand out more in comparison.
The main upsell of this program is not pushed hard but if you like what you’ve seen you can go ahead and purchase the “Advanced Accelerator Pack”, another 154 page ebook which includes a further 23 butt-targeting exercises, four unique workout programs, and two training techniques designed to push your training and results to the next level.
The Advanced Accelerator pack is a further $19.95 and can be purchased through the link provided in the ebook, but the original Gluteus to the Maximus package is packed full of so much information that it’s enough to keep you going for a long time.
My Final Opinion of Gluteus to the Maximus
Overall, I found Gluteus to the Maximus to be packed full of useful information. I was not particularly impressed at the product presentation and some broken clickable links. However, looking past that at the actual information presented, it is quality stuff and I was able to take away more than a few gems which by themselves will really ramp up the effectiveness of my training. That alone does make it worth the price.
A wealth of information
The amount of material presented is massive, and it took me over several hours to go through just the manual, so it could be easy to become overwhelmed. For those who just want to be told what to do, you can just skip straight to the programs section and pick one at random and get started right away, modifying to suit as you go.
Equips you for successs
The ebook very much teaches you ‘how to fish’ rather than ‘giving you a fish’, and by that I mean that you are not handed out a specific eating program or exercise routine that you should follow and that is it. Instead, Nick outlines the main principles behind the nutrition and exercise you will need to do in order to build bigger glutes, and gives you a starting point – but the rest is up to you.
I did find that the module on nutrition was a bit lacking in detail to make up a comprehensive program, but the main principles are conveyed adequately. Don’t expect any eating guides or calorie counting here. Rather, Nick provides some rules of thumb that should stand you in good stead for muscle building.
Top support
You are not left unsupported in the exercise department either, as the number of workout programs provided will keep you going for ages, and Nick is always available to field questions. What is left to you, though, is to find what works for you, and tweak the program until you find what exactly gets you the best results.
All about building a bigger butt
At the end of the day, I absolutely love that this product is highly specialized to building up your butt, and if you’re really chasing that specific goal then this ebook is one of the guides you won’t go wrong with.

Gluteus to the Maximus Review
Summary
Gluteus to the Maximus is a great resource for anyone who wants to build a bigger butt, in just 20 minutes or less 3 times a week. No hype, just proven, bodybuilding techniques – all broken down to everything you need to know so that you can get your glutes growing fast.
This seems very interesting and what I liked most that you write what is good and bad not only just promoting the product. I think it will help a lot of women who want to have a bigger but 🙂
Thank you, I am all about providing my honest opinion on what is available, so I really do appreciate your words. I must mention though that this product is not just aimed at women, you’d be surprised to learn that a lot of men buy this product as well! It definitely can work for both sexes and the material in the book is not gender-biased in any way.
Jolie,
I’m in love with your site! Your site and the way you write is very unique! Who could even imagine creating a site on such a great niche!
Gluteus to the Maximus seems to be a great product! I’ve already shared this article with my best friend! I hope she finds it good 🙂
-Nishkarsh
Hi Nishkarsh, thanks so much for your kind words! I hope both you and your friend enjoy the review 🙂
Definitely, recommending this book to my friends. I actually have a pretty great butt as a result of genetics but my friends are always grilling me because of it. I don’t know what sorts of tips to give them cuz clearly I didn’t have to work for mines. But they will love this article! Thanks so much!
Hi Ashley, this is a great book for anyone who wasn’t as blessed genetically! There’s always some improvement that can be had with exercise 🙂 Cheers!
Nice clean article. Me personally, I would much rather go online and find workout tips and exercises for free than purchasing a program. Especially if I am also paying for a gym membership. Either way you, you did a great job of presenting all the information about this book and not just the pros and cons.
Thanks Ben, I agree with you – I’m more inclined to try and find out all the information I can for free first. But what I have learnt from reviewing these kind of paid programs is that sometimes they do offer a great deal more information that can sometimes warrant spending the money.
I always check reviews first. If they check out okay, and the product provides a lot of value and is exactly what I’m after, I can justify spending the money. If you think about it, it can work out to be good value for money because it saves you the time and effort of researching and sifting through heaps of lower-quality information. From first hand experience this can be super frustrating!
The value I see in the Gluteus to the Maximus program is the sheer amount of exercises that it offers. I’ve started a little exercise index of my own on this site, but it’s nowhere near as extensive as the one in this book!
I like how this is for anybody not just girls. We shouldn’t be ashamed of how our body’s look, we should be ashamed of not working to fix it. NICE BUTTS EVERYWHERE, it’s almost over welming haha. You can definitely be proud when you walk and you know everybody is jealous of your ass. I guess that would make you alittle more confident haha.
It definitely does contribute to confidence levels! It’s all about taking action and doing something about things you are not happy about, and that includes your butt! Thanks for the comment Konnor 🙂
Came across your review of Gluteus to the Maximus and have to say, I’m impressed. You clearly put in the time for a deep review of the material, and you put together something great. Personally, I am not in the “no butt” category, but i still think some of these exercises could help me out. There is still a difference between having a butt and having a well worked out butt, so I think I may get find this useful
Thanks Sean, appreciate the feedback!
Hi Jolie well you have certainly expanded my knowledge today. If someone were to ask me What is Gluteus to the Maximus about I would never have guessed my butt. Seems that a lot more people are going for a bigger butt today. I would have thought that this was just a female thing but I see a lot of guys want that bigger butt also.
For what Nick is asking for this ebook I think it is a great value especially for what you are getting.
Thanks for the comment Maureen! Yep, anyone who buys this book will certainly not feel like they didn’t get value for money, because it’s simply packed full of heaps of useful info.
I’ve gotten ancient Nilsson’s emails and followed his Facebook for a couple years, starting when I realized that lifestyle changes and age were combining to take me downhill very fast. He is great. Has a great sense of balance, and can be humorous. There is no way he will tell you that working out ought to be the most important thing in your life, that having a weak physique is a moral failure, or any of the other negativity some trainers can give you. He has lots of fitness pros following and learning from him, but he always answers my questions at just the right level for me. I know you said that the support for Gluteus to the Max is good. I just wanted to add what difference he makes.
He’s been around for a while hasn’t he Jen! I think he’s probably one of the original people who focused on building a better butt through exercise. Thanks for sharing your experience with this product!
