Waaaaaaaaa I am so happy I came across your website lol!! It turns out, with the summer coming, I decided to work on my butt lately … but I didn’t know what exercices I should do except for the famous squats… (which I hate lol). I am very excited to build my new “butt program” using all your exercices!!!!
    Thanks, have a great day
    Sarah

I didn’t see kneeling squat up on the list. Maybe it has another name.

I love Stair Climbing. I really notice when I go up the stairs in my house I try to consintrate on stepping on the stair with my whole foot and using my glutes to help propel me forward. It really helps. Sometimes I do a kick back up each step to add a little more butt workout, only when no one is around of ciurse. If my family caught me I’d never hear the end of it, ??

That’s awesome, love this idea – thanks for sharing!! I’m always after little ways to get a bit of a sneaky butt workout in, so this fits the bill perfectly. I usually already do the stair thing (I like to take them 2 at a time as well), but adding a kickback is genius!

    Hello Jolie,
Your website is a gem full of information! Thank you very much! I was wonderinghow frequently would you recommend I should exercise? Everyday with a different set of exercise each time?

Hi Haylee, you’re most welcome! Your comment made my day – I absolutely love comments like this, so thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch! 🙂

The glutes respond really well to exercise and I have heard that you can train daily with no problems. I do this myself, as there are really no downsides. You could definitely go and pick a random exercise each day if you like, or stick with the same ones if you find some that you can really feel in your butt and like doing! One tip is to try and keep it being a challenge, so be sure to use adequate resistance (weights, or make it harder by doing more reps) each time.

If you are wanting to try and really build up some muscle in your butt, then you would benefit from doing lower reps and heavy resistance. In this case, you might want to train every alternate day instead, so that you can give your muscles some time to recover (and build up) between training sessions.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more help!

    Hi,

Awesome website. Was just wondering how many excercises to do each day from the list? Also is it better to leave a day in between before training glutes again.

    Thanks
    Chantelle

Thanks Chantelle! You can do as little or as much as you want from the exercise list. Commbine them together to make a workout that you like, if you fancy. An example might be to do anywhere between 5 minutes to 120 minutes of exercise, whatever suits you really! Of course, the more the better (within reason).
I’d say for the first week or so that you’re training it might be worthwhile taking a break between glute-workout days, but to be honest in my opinion the glutes can essentially be trained every day without any issues so feel free to work at them every day if you like (unless you’re doing very heavy weight lifting).
      Good luck!

Thank you for listing all the exercises, however, can you please list the names of specific exercises which should be done by skinny girls to get a better butt?

Glute bridges all the way (helps build bulk), lunges, and squats are some of my favorite for bulking up those glute muscles!

So you put Fro Jumps in the first place! Very funny. It even made me laugh. Frog jumps will do nothing to the shape and size of your butt. You simply put in in the first order since it is very easy to perform them and you like it.
I put 330 lbs on a barbell and do hip thrusts. This is what really works very well. Also, Bulgarian split squats is a great exercise. Recently, I got acquainted with cable kickback and I really loved it. I need a good strap since I always work with heavy weights. I will buy it on Amazon.
So, please, make changes in the article. Frog jumps should be in the last place!

      Hi Bahtiyar,
Thanks for the comment! Actually, these exercises aren’t in order of importance or anything… they are just the order which I blogged about them! I may update this list in future to a better system to avoid any confusion. Glute bridges and hip thrusts are actually my favorite glute builders in terms of effectiveness because you can load them up with a barbell like you’ve said!

At the end of the day though, I think butt exercises are a personal thing that everyone is going to have different preferences on. So it really comes down to trying a few of them and picking out the ones that seem effective to you!
