But what exactly is it you are supposed to look for? If you’re yet to make your first purchase of butt padded underwear, how do you know what is good and what isn’t?

Find out everything you need to know in this article, so you don’t make any poor purchases that end up making you look like you’ve stuffed the back of your panties with a box of tissues.

Why Wear Butt-Padded Underwear?

We’ve all heard of padded bras, but padded panties? That’s a bit of a newer concept, but the logic is the same. Butt padded panties are designed to give you an instant boost to your butt size.

Butt and boobs are and will always be considered a powerful sign of femininity, and many women seek to improve the appearance of both so they can boost their overall attractiveness. And it works! A nice set of buns or breasts will get you noticed.

If you want to attract envious stares and more attention from males, then boosting up your butt is one sure way to get both.

Unfortunately not all of us can be so lucky to have a nicely filled-out rack, so the only alternative is to turn to some form of enhancement technique (or else do nothing but try to come to terms with our flat figures).

Surgical enhancement is one option but can be costly and is also risky, so it’s not for everyone. Natural enhancement can be done through either exercise, lotions, pills, and the like, but costs can also add up – plus it can take a lot of time and effort invested on your part before you see results.

Enhancement clothing that uses padding to boost your butt and breasts up a size or two is another alternative that many women turn to. It is relatively cheap when compared to expensive cosmetic products which may not even work. Underwear is reusable, the results are concrete, padding provides instant results and products in this range are easy to obtain online.

You can see why butt padded underwear is a preferred option for many women who might want a bigger butt, or for those who just want to even out their butt shape to produce a more rounded and even booty.

Types of Butt Enhancing Underwear

If you’re convinced and ready to make your first purchase to test the waters, then you’ll need to know what kind of products are out there. Trust me when I say this can be super confusing at first! From what I have seen there are a two main categories that butt padded underwear can be broken up into:

  1. Underwear with built in pads
  2. Underwear with removable pads
  3. Butt and hip pads themselves (separate from underwear)

How do you choose which one you want to go for? Your main two options will both give great results, but you may want to look at the pros and cons of each type before you choose which one you want to purchase.

Panties with Built-In Padding

Padded Panties by Bubbles® Bodywear

This padded underwear is your simple, no-fuss version that doesn’t require any messing around with removable pads and pockets. Foam padding is built in to the underwear by either stitching or molding, so it’s not going to move around.

Pros:

  • No messing around with changing or positioning butt pads.
  • Security knowing that the padding is not going to move around while you’re wearing the panties.
  • A ‘wear-and-go’ solution, with no work required on your part.

Cons:

  • Because the padding is fixed in place, depending on the style you might not get as realistic a feel from these when compared to panties with removable pads, which can shift with the natural movement of the body better.
  • You’ll need to hand wash these since you can’t remove the padding.
  • There are no silicone options available, these are generally foam padded only. Silicone is often favored because of its more realistic appearance and feel.

Panties with Removable Padding

These panties come with purpose built ‘pockets’ designed to hold separate butt pad inserts. The pockets are sewn into the underwear, so they can be worn with or without the butt pad inserts.

You will need to get a ‘set’ which consists of two separate items: a pair of panties with pockets, and a pair of butt pads which are designed to sit in the pockets.

More people tend to prefer this option and it is certainly my personal preference as well, due to the flexibility of these garments.

Pros:

  • Versatile. So-called “pocket panties” can be worn with or without padding.
  • Different amounts of butt-boost are an option – you can mix and match different sized pads with different panties to create a variety of looks.
  • Economical – one set of butt pads can be used with multiple pairs of underwear, so you don’t need to buy multiple sets of padded panties.
  • Separate butt pads for each cheek makes these look really realistic because they move independently of each other and with the natural movement of your body.

Cons:

  • You need to remove the pads before washing these panties, so they will require a bit of ‘set-up’ before wearing again if you decide to use the pads.
  • May look ‘odd’ due to the pockets sewn into the panties. Note that some butt pads may have a particular shape that only fit in certain pockets.
  • Butt padding can have the potential to move around within the pockets if you buy an inferior product, though this isn’t a problem with higher quality brands.

Butt and Hip Pads

These are most commonly made from either foam or silicone, and can be designed to be worn with ‘pocket panties’, or in some cases without the need for specialist underwear.

You can get ‘sticky’ pads which have a reusable adhesive that can be used to stick these to any clothing, so they are very versatile.

Butt pads can come in many different sizes and shapes, often quoted for the amount of ‘butt boost’ you can expect from them. To give you an idea, they can range from between 1/2″ to 3″ of boost, which is the thickness of the pad.

Do your research before you buy to ensure you are purchasing pads which will achieve the result you want.

Styles of Women’s Padded Underwear

You need to be aware of the styles of butt enhancing underwear that are available. Obviously these are not going to come in a G-string version, because that leaves nowhere to put the padding!

However, just because you need to have cheek coverage in these panties it doesn’t mean that all butt enhancing underwear looks chunky, medieval or embarrassing. You can still retain your femininity while wearing padded panties if you choose the right product.

There is a vast range of styles of butt padded underwear for women, including:

  • Bikini cut
  • High waist/high-rise
  • Low-rise
  • Seamless
  • Boxer/boyleg
  • Mid-thigh

Your choice of style will depend on personal preference, but you should also pay some regard to what clothing you intend to wear with your butt enhancing underwear. There are skimpier styles available which are close to a bikini cut, suitable to be worn with low-rise jeans or specific ‘invisible’ products available if you need something that is not visible under seamless clothing.

Where to Buy

Padded panties are becoming more popular lately, but it is still a struggle to find a decent product range in physical stores, unless you are visiting a specialist women’s underwear retailer. Even then, their range can be limited to just a few pairs of padded panties.

Thankfully, online retailers are stepping up their game, and I think this is the best place to buy butt padded underwear, because you’ll have the most choice available to you.

Inferior Products Giving Padded Panties a Bad Name

Be aware that there are sub-standard products out there, that – let’s face it – just look obviously fake when you wear them.

I’m sure that the last thing you want is to look like a fool who has stuffed their undies full of padding, so make sure you get a quality product that is going to look realistic and isn’t obvious.

If you can try before you buy, then that’s a great option. If you’re buying online it can be a bit trickier to weasel out the inferior products, but here are a few tips.

Things to Watch Out For

Because most padded butt underwear is mostly found online and it can be more difficult to shop in this medium, there are a few things you should look out for when purchasing a pair of butt padded panties over the internet.

Detailed pictures – look for up-close photographs which show how the underwear looks, preferably on a model. This will quickly allow you to see how realistic the product looks, and save you from looking like you’ve stuffed a pair of socks down you undies when you get your product.

Visible padding – inferior products have very obvious padding, which doesn’t merge well with the natural curves of your body. Think of a wad of padding sitting on top of the middle of your butt cheek and you can get an idea. While you might be able to ‘soften’ this look if you are wearing thick/heavy clothing like denim jeans, you’ll struggle when wearing anything else. Go for a quality product with good sizing that has padding that boosts your butt while remaining undetectable.

Returns policy – always check the returns policy of the vendor you are purchasing through, especially if purchasing online. With underwear, returning items can have some restrictions or even be denied due to health and hygiene considerations. A good company will allow you to return a product if it is unworn and unsoiled – which means you can try it on over the top of your own underwear and still return it if the sizing is incorrect.

Sizing charts – if buying online, sizing charts will be essential to trying to pick your correct size, the more detailed the better. Even if there is no sizing chart available you should be able to email the store owner to ask further questions. Look out for dodgy customer support which may indicate an inferior company.

Reviews – look for product reviews of the specific product you are purchasing, as this can provide valuable insight into how the product looks and feels to wear (through other people’s experiences). Be weary of products that have negative or no product reviews, for obvious reasons.

My #1 Recommendation For Butt Padded Panties

Love My Bubbles by Bubbles® Bodywear is my preferred retailer for butt padded underwear, because they have been in business for over 10 years, have a great range, fantastic reviews, and an excellent returns policy. They also have detailed information on each one of their products, including great FAQs, so that you can be exactly sure of what you are buying.

I hope this article has given you some insight into how to buy butt padded underwear, if you haven’t already purchased your first set! I know it can be daunting to know what to get and if it will look right, but you can rely on other consumer’s reviews and buy a quality product through a reputable vendor then you can feel safe that you aren’t going to lose your money on a dodgy product.

Butt enhancing underwear really is a great product that I think every woman should have in her arsenal to help boost their confidence and look. I would encourage you to pick yourself up a pair, ane be sure to let me know what you think!

Hi there. I am not a lady, but I found this article very interesting (especially the pictures LOL). A great natural way to get some meat on the “butt” is to do some sprawls. It is an exercise where you drop down to all 4’rs like in a push-up position. When you are in that position, you lower your hips until it touches the floor.

After you did it you can return back on your feet and jump as high as you can. This is one rep and you can do 30 to 50 per day. This will put some muscle on your butt and and strengthen your core.

PLEASE NOTE!!! You will feel this the next day LOL

      Hi Viljoen,
Thanks for the exercise tips! These sound very similar to “Burpees”, which are also a great butt-working exercise. Thanks for stopping by!

I’d never heard of butt-padded underwear for women till I read this. As you say, a padded bra is common but not for the butt. I was blessed with a decent bust size but have always had a flattish butt. I like the the look of the Bubbles range, sexy but functional.
    Great article! 🙂

So I was looking for a link to the Bubbles Bodywear store after the first pic of padded panties – super sexy 😛 I definitely agree on the “pocket panties” being the most versatile and economical option. I personally use padded bras with removable padding and find them quite comfortable, so I would imagine these would likely be the same or similar idea. Great post! I enjoyed the pics as well, lol. Who doesn’t like a nice butt? 🙂

My mother is going through treatments where she has to sit for long hours at a time. She had always been flat, but it’s getting worse. Her pants don’t fit well. Would there be a problem of her sitting for 4-6 hours at a time while using something like this? Also, go you have the so called “granny panty”available? At 87, she’s not ready to wear bikini or hi rise cut!

Hi Cindy, I would imagine that it could be possible for padded underwear to help with this problem. I have heard of some men who love padded underwear because of this exact reason – sitting on hard surfaces can get uncomfortable if you don’t have much ‘natural padding’ for cushioning! I think it would depend on the exact type of padded underwear as to whether or not it would help your mother. For example, if you got some with a low-quality foam padding it might just compress to nothing and offer not much in the way of cushioning. Bubbles bodywear customer support are excellent and would probably be able to advise on their best product that would be suitable – I hope this helps!

You have pads for butts but how about pads for someone who needs it in the thigh due to muscle tone loss. I would like to be able to wear the new tighter pants look but cannot because there is loss in the thigh area.

      Hi Beverley,
I must admit I’ve never heard of or come across such a product! I hope you can find what you’re looking for. One thing that may be a longer-term solution would be to start exercising to bring back some of the muscle tissue. It would certainly give you the most natural look! If you’re just starting out I recommend easing into it. Some shallow-depth squats or lunges would be a good starting point and then work your way up to the full-depth versions. You could also try static wall-squat holds if that’s easier (they still burn like crazy!). Find yourself a solid wall and position your feet about the length of your thigh away from the wall, facing away from it. Make sure your feet are parallel and about hip width apart, then lean back to rest your back on the wall. Slide down until you’re in a sitting position as if you’re sitting in a chair and just hold that for as long as you can. It should get your thigh muscles burning and add some good muscle tone!
